Background

Active Network had unique insights into the events industry from their years of experience. These were insights and analytics that would be beneficial to event organizers worldwide, yet there was no tool to access such data.

As the lead designer on the project, I worked with junior designers and the UX team to create a tool that provides event organizers with analytics of their market and helped them take advantage of and find new opportunities.

Visual Exploration

Knowing that the product would be data heavy, I began by blocking out colors and and attempting to nail down a basic style for data presentation.

Colors & Typography — Once the stakeholders were happy with the basic designs, I began locking down the style. Colors were chosen to evoke eventful fun to soften the drab of data presentation. Brand font was chosen with an eye for readability.

Icons — I hired a vendor and oversaw the creation of custom icons, keeping it simple but useful.

The Product

Using data from activities, marketing campaigns, usage history, social analytics, and participant information, the app provides event organizers with actionable intelligence.

Plan Events & Campaigns — At the heart of the app is the ability for the user to plan an event for which everything revolves around. Once an event is set, the user is able to select targeted campaigns to boost reach and attendance.

Map & Insights — The heat map tracks event locations, social interests, registration timeline, and historical interest, while the analytics and insights allow the user to adjust goals and keep an eye on competition level, registration and revenue status, participant reach, and performance timeline.

Style Guide

I created a style guide covering everything from typography, color schemes, form elements, accessibility, etc., were covered in both online and offline formats.
